- Easy to set up and use – Vodafone Sure Signal customers just need a home or office broadband connection of 1MB and a 3G phone
Vodafone Sure Signal is now proving a hit with UK business customers. Launched originally in July 2009 as Vodafone Access Gateway, and aimed primarily at consumer customers, it is now gaining popularity in the business community. Small and medium sized businesses say that Vodafone Sure Signal helps them stay connected to their customers.
Quick and easy to install, VSS plugs straight into any home or office broadband line with a minimum download speed of 1 MB per second providing a full 3G signal indoors. Customers no longer need to worry about missed messages on their mobiles, dropped calls or lack of signal.
Vodafone Sure Signal is also being used by businesses to make sure they can use their mobiles whenever they need to at home. Daniel Bird, operations manager for DB Schenker, says: “I work with customers all over the world in lots of different time zones, helping them run trade shows and exhibitions. It’s a time-sensitive industry – if a delivery is late, customers need to contact me straightaway, not the next day. It’s important that I can take calls on my mobile outside office hours, when I’m at home. Basically, I need reception 24/7 indoor and outdoors, and with Sure Signal, that’s what I get.”

Peter Kelly, Vodafone’s Enterprise Director, says: “No other network in the UK can ensure businesses have a great 3G phone signal indoors, because the Sure Signal is unique to Vodafone. Early indications are that after only a few months after launch small and medium sized businesses are finding Vodafone Sure Signal transforms their lives, increasing productivity and enabling them to take full advantage of all Vodafone’s services via their handset anywhere in their office or home.”

John Gale, IT Manager for ITC Concepts, explains:
“Two of our directors use Sure Signal and they’re very happy with it. It really jumped out at me as the ideal solution when I heard about it. The fact that they have 100 per cent coverage at home is a real business benefit. One director is taking advantage of the free company mobile to company mobile calls from his home so the Vodafone Sure Signal will pay for itself in just three months. It’s a fantastic product.”

Business critical
Richard Woolley, SAN administrator at Marshalls said:
“I’m often on call out of office hours. If our IT system goes down, I get an automated alert to my phone and have to respond quickly. If my mobile misses an alert, it can take up to 45 minutes for another colleague to be contacted and react to the problem. Our systems are mission critical, and we just can’t afford for them to be down for this amount of time. With Sure Signal, I never miss an alert, so I can start fixing systems instantly. This means a lot to me – and to the business.”
