RIM’s decision to finally show off a WebKit-based browser for its BlackBerry range was met with applause at Mobile World Congress – but it may not be good news for fans.

We asked RIM’s head of developer relations Mike Kirkup whether the new browser will be used in legacy devices, and he hinted that it wouldn’t be:

Motorola angry over RIM ’stealing’ its patents

Motorola has filed a complaint over RIM’s BlackBerry range, claiming they infringe a number of patents it holds.

The case has been filed with the International Trade Commission in the US, and Moto is looking to block RIM from importing what it calls ‘infringing products’.

iPhone: Strong like Ox

Apple will be beaming after it finds out it has beaten the RIM boys once more: apparently the iPhone has half the failure rate of the Blackberry collection.

Now, it would be unfair not to point out that while Apple has only got 1.5 versions of the iPhone out, RIM has unleashed slews of handsets onto the market, so if Apple makes one decent handset it already has a huge advantage.
